Mom Entrepreneurs - Getting the Best of Both Worlds

Honestly, I'm not a work at home mom, but I'll bet your reasons for looking into a home based business opportunity look a lot like mine. I wanted freedom - control of my time, how I spent it, and more time with my family. I wanted to spend time with my kids when they needed me most. I wanted Self-reliance - making my own way, not dependent on some higher-up's whim or attitude. I wanted a real income - not $10 or $15 dollars an hour, but an income that would give me and my family the things we wanted. Does that sound about right?

I'm wondering, too, are you a bit tired and a little put-off by all the work at home hype you see on the Internet? I don't blame you. Me, too.

I've visited a few WAHM sites and been to lots of "online home based business opportunity" sites. If I had to rely on that information - if I hadn't been around the block a few times with my own work from home businesses - I would have written off the idea of a home based Internet business altogether!

I'm going to be straight with you. There is no instant millionaire plan. I don't think anyone is going to pay you $5,000 a month to stuff envelopes in your spare time, and I don't think you believe it either.

You bet. If you are willing to learn how to operate work from home businesses, and put in the time and energy to turn what you learn into a real business. There are unique challenges that come with living where you work and working where you live, but nothing you can't handle.

I've worked one-on-one, helping over a hundred people start up a small business. Most of those were work from home businesses and at least half were moms - just like you - who wanted freedom, self- reliance, and a real income for their efforts. I've been operating traditional work from home businesses for over twelve years and it's been great. Most people starting work from home businesses do just like me, and choose what is familiar to them. Since most of us haven't worked in an online business, we feel more comfortable with the traditinal model. Now don't get me wrong! You can do quite well with the traditional model - I have - but a home based internet business offers some lifestyle advantages that I believe make climbing the learning curve to master them worth the effort.
